1760 – Birth of Kuźnice Drzewickie
Filip Szaniawski establishes a metallurgical plant in Drzewica.
In the heart of the former Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, amidst forests and rivers, the first hammer strikes. It is here – in the fire of the forge and the determination of a visionary – that the industrial soul of Drzewica is born. A history that has not faded despite wars, declines, and changes. A history that continues to endure.
1882 – The Kobylański family takes over the plant
The plant passes into the hands of Samuel Hipolit Kobylański.
A new chapter written with courage and innovation. The Kobylański bring new quality, streamline production, and introduce new technologies. In Drzewica, tools are created that are trusted by farmers and craftsmen across the country. This is a time of pride, development, and true industrial heart.
1966 – Establishment of the Harvesting Knives Department
A turning point – a specialized department producing knives for agricultural machinery was established.
It was here that the foundation of our identity was born. This department gave rise to the specialization for which we are known today. Production lines were created that would power harvests in thousands of fields for decades. This was the moment when passion gave birth to precision. And experience gave birth to quality.
2009 – Birth of GERPOL – the independent company
The harvesting knives department is separated from Gerlach and transformed into the independent company – GERPOL.
New name, same spirit. GERPOL embarks on an independent journey – with courage and the conviction that quality will speak for itself. We are born once again, strong in experience, yet free in spirit. This is the beginning of a brand that combines tradition with modernity.
2013 – Jan Balasiński takes over the plant
A new GERPOL, a new chapter, new energy.
From father to son. From passion to vision. GERPOL becomes a family business in the truest sense of the word – where every decision is rooted in values, trust, and long-term thinking. An era of modernization, technology, and a family approach to business begins.
2025 – Green Mark of Quality and Confirmed Quality
We officially introduce the color of our components – RAL6002 Green – as a symbol of quality and recognition. It’s not just a color. It’s a declaration. RAL6002 Green becomes our mark of quality – visible from afar, recognizable, and reliable.
At the same time, we obtain ISO 9001 certification, confirming the highest production standards. And ISO 9001 confirms what we’ve known for a long time: we do things well. This is the moment when history and the future join hands.
The New GERPOL
Today’s GERPOL is a family business established in 2013, based on GERPOL Sp. z o.o., which evolved from the Harvest Knife Department at GERLACH S.A., where cutting parts for agriculture were manufactured for nearly 60 years. We acquired not only the machinery, equipment, and know-how, but also an experienced staff. These employees are our company’s greatest asset.
